FFOZ, dedicated to proclaiming the Torah and its way of life, fully centered on Messiah, to today's people of God.
At First Fruits of Zion, we long to see the Hebrew Roots of our original faith restored. We yearn to recover the ways of the Apostles and those first followers of Yeshua of Nazareth. Thankfully, these ways are not completely lost. God has protected them, leaving them within our reach. This is why we proclaim the Torah and its way of life, fully centered on Messiah, to today’s People of God.
Yeshua’s life was rooted in the land and in the Judaism of His day. As His followers, we must reclaim a clear understanding of His relationship with the Jewish people, and also His relationship with the land of Israel. When He comes again, He will still be Jewish. His message, however, is for everyone, and He is expanding the commonwealth of Israel by gathering all who believe in Him into the household of Abraham, just as God promised.
The rich fullness of the good news (Gospel) preached by Yeshua and His disciples must be restored. It is an urgent call to repentance that demands we turn away from sin and live out lives of righteousness. The Gospel must result in lives visibly transformed.
Discipleship is the art of imitation through careful observance. This is why Yeshua likened it to a yoke, and we believe it is possible to retrieve this lost yoke by better understanding His first-century Hebraic discipleship methods. Under His yoke, we discover a light and easy truth: if Yeshua felt something was important, so should we. We should seek to do all things as He did. He needs to be the ultimate filter through which we observe God’s commandments.
Since the early second century, the Torah has been largely neglected by the Body of Messiah. We believe that the Torah is the instruction book given to us by our loving heavenly Father for our good. The Torah defines sin and points us toward righteousness and godliness. We endeavor to restore recognition of the Torah, as God’s eternal standard of righteousness, to its place of prominence and authority in the community of faith.
This vision and mission is not small. Restoring these things will be daunting, and it may take many years to work out fully. With this in mind, we must approach these matters with great humility and careful balance.
Nevertheless, we are confident of our mission. The Scriptures speak unanimously regarding these things from Genesis to Revelation. Messiah kept the Torah fully, and God’s Word does not change. As we journey back and attempt to restore that which has been lost, we pray for the Father’s loving guidance.
