Moses in Matthew

“The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your brothers — it is to him you shall listen.” (Deuteronomy 18:15)
It is said by ancient Rabbis, “Just as occurred with the first redeemer, Moses, so too, will occur with the final redeemer, the Messiah.” The question and the cry throughout the Gospels was, “Is he the Prophet?” or more emphatically, “He is the Prophet!” Matthew, more than the other Gospel writers, was intentional in is allusions that Yeshua is the prophet “like Moses.” This two-hour seminar will mine the Gospels to find many of the typologies throughout Matthew to Yeshua’s “Moses-like” fulfillment. The Gospels are composed in a thoroughly Jewish manner and need to be understood within that context to fully see what and why things take place and are said. Your faith in Yeshua will be strengthened and your mind expanded through this seminar.
SESSION ONE: The Exalted One
Allusions abound in the Holy Gospels of Yeshua’s preeminence as king, prophet, and the greatest source of wisdom. The Gospel writers were concerned to communicate that Yeshua is greater than David, Moses, and Solomon. See how exalted his role is foretold in the Bible, expected by the Rabbis, and fulfilled in Yeshua.
SESSION TWO: Moses in Matthew
From the birth narratives, to the subtleties in the miracles, the variance in the temptation accounts, his death, and ultimate transfiguration see inspiring parallels, whispers, and hints throughout the book of Matthew to Yeshua.
The sessions in this siminar will heavily utilize The Delitzsch Hebrew Gospels which presents the classic Delitzsch Hebrew combined with a fresh, new English translation. Available in three distinct editions. Preview at www.vineofdavid.org.
