Why is reading the DHE important for Christians?
This week we formally announced the publication of The Delitzsch Hebrew Gospels: A Hebrew / English Translation (DHE). Check out our announcement page here: DHE Countdown.
Reading the DHE is important for Christians because it places the Gospels back in their proper context. The Messiah came as a Jewish man to the Jewish people in the land of Israel. This was no accident. Rather, this was the setting that the Father specifically chose to reveal his truth and his plan of salvation.
Context is essential to understanding any piece of literature, especially the Bible. But the complete context is more than a paragraph or a chapter--it is a culture, a nation, and a history. Some of Jesus' sayings are difficult for many readers to understand. This is because many of the images and ideas that he employed were common in ancient Jewish literature, but they are lost or have taken on different meanings in Western society and the modern era. By placing the Gospels back in their ancient Jewish context, Jesus' original intended meanings emerge. Only then can his words be properly understood and applied in our modern and multinational context.
Furthermore, seeing the Gospels as Jewish literature should cause Christians to feel a sense of humility and indebtedness toward the Jewish people. The Jewish voice of the DHE highlights that the entire Bible--including the New Testament--and the Messiah himself are precious gifts that the Jewish people have given to the world.

This is an awesome ministering tool, and will prove effective to both those who have an interest to search deeper into the roots of our faith, the foundation for the Church to grow up, and to realize who Our Jewish Messiah really is!!! I celebrate the efforts of First Fruits of Zion, the heart that been poured into the this ministry outreach, may we prayerfully consider how we can help to bring this gospel to both the Jews and Christians alike.
Thank you Boaz for being faithful to the call to bring The Delitzsch Hebrew Gospels to print, for we all know that the Holy Spirit, Ruach Ha Kodesh will use the Living Word of Adonai to bring many into Saving Faith in Our Lord and Messiach Yeshua!
Thank you for allowing those of us to actually see The Delitzsch Hebrew Gospels, even before the final copy was cover-bound! What makes The Delitzsch Hebrew Gospels different from other Scriptures, our physical and spiritual eyes will be opened to Yeshua's Jewish Idioms, Words of Richness and Life
