Messiah Journal Reviewed

There are a lot of solid points of learning available by staying connected on a daily basis with the developing Messianic movement through the Messianic blogosphere. If you have not connected with some of the Messianic blogs, I would encourage you to do so, as each day these bloggers bring important issues to the table.

Recently, some bloggers have reviewed the forthcoming Messiah Journal issue 105. The journal will be shipping next week--if you have yet to subscribe, I would encourage you to do so. Subscribe here!

Check out these reviews and thoughts from others on Messiah Journal, issue 105.

"I may be reading more into Boaz's letter than is really there, but what this says to me is that you have a single group or body who is addressing the needs and concerns of two separate populations but at the core, those needs are addressed by a single Messiah and the One God." —Blogger James Pyles.

Yahnatan is a quality Messianic blogger that specializes in finding nice short quotes. He states,

"The latest issue of FFOZ's Messiah Journal contains a number of must-read articles, including biographies of Franz Delitzsch and Messianic luminary R' Isaac Lichtenstein. The following quote is from "The Talmud on Trial," Lichtenstein's response to an anti-Talmud book published in his day called Netivot Olam ("The Old Paths"). Here's a brief excerpt from Lichtenstein's response..."

James Pyles is very balanced and fair in his review of Toby Janicki's artile, "One Law for All." He states,

I really like Janicki's article and recommend it as a very clear picture of how the "ger" and "one law" passages in the Torah can not be relied upon to establish Gentile "obligation" to Torah commandments, but please keep in mind that the scope of Janicki's analysis begins and ends within the "ger" topic. Relative to Yeshua, there is much more to discover about Gentile identity within the Messianic realm.

On the Yinon blog, Rabbi Joshua Brumbach highlights one of the jewels of this journal. He comments:

Another excellent article is from one of my best friends, *Yisrael Levitt (not his real name). The article attempts to identify the source of standard Jewish objection to faith in Yeshua's messiahship and cross-examine the objection, using material only from Jewish sources. In the end the author attempts to prove that faith in Yeshua as the one promised Mashiach is warranted, despite the fact that we still await the advent of the era of universal peace and restoration. This is an excellent article worth reading.

Friend and blogger Derek Leman was floored when he read about the life of Franz Delitzsch. In more detail he states:

I was moved, actually even floored at one point, by the biographical sketch of Franz Delitzsch in Messiah Journal 105. Authors Siegried Wagner and Arnulf Baumann write with intelligence and insight. I have read some advance portions of the upcoming Delitzsch Hebrew-English gospels that Vine of David is producing. I have for years owned and used the Keil and Delitzsch commentaries on the Hebrew Bible. I had no idea how interesting Delitzsch's life was (and is). But I was floored when I read this forward-thinking quote by him from 1882.
