Do you want to know Yeshua better?
Tags: Gospels, Know Jesus Better, Torah Club
Eight years ago (2002), we introduced you to Torah Club Volume Four: The Good News of Messiah, a commentary on the Gospels and Acts. This fall, we are doing it all over with a whole new version of Volume Four titled Chronicles of the Messiah.
The new Volume Four completely rearranges Torah Club's weekly Gospel readings to create a year-long journey through the life of the Master from his birth to his ascension. All four Gospels are presented from a harmonized, narrative approach to follow the life, adventures, and teachings of Yeshua in one big story. Keyed to the weekly Torah portions, the new Volume Four will begin in Genesis with the prologue to John and the birth narratives and conclude in Deuteronomy with the resurrection and ascension of Yeshua. All the weeks in between will be spent in an intense Messianic Jewish study of the Gospels.
The New Torah Club Volume Four
Why are we rewriting Volume Four? At First Fruits of Zion, we continuously revise our Torah Club materials to keep them fresh, relevant, and up to date with the latest scholarship. The original Volume Four provided a revolutionary look at Yeshua as a Torah observant Jew. The new Volume Four reorganizes and harmonizes much of the original material, but it also takes those insights much further, compiling the latest studies on the Jewishness of Jesus and combining them into one continuous study. In the last seven years, we've learned a lot more about the Gospels and the teachings of Yeshua. Because the new format does not repeat material, it allows for far more in-depth treatments of each passage.
Torah Club Volume Four: Chronicles of the Messiah also incorporates insights from the nineteenth century Jewish believer Rabbi Yechiel Tzvi Lichtenstein. In the late 1800s, Rabbi Lichtenstein wrote a Hebrew commentary on the entire New Testament, marshalling a vast array of rabbinic literature to bring the Gospels and teachings of Yeshua into better focus. In preparation for the new volume four, Vine of David translators have translated Lichtenstein's voice into English for the first time ever. Chronicles of the Messiah will include thoughts and comments from Rabbi Lichtenstein both in the audio teachings and the written materials.
The commentary employs the forthcoming Vine of David Hebrew/English Gospel translation--a completely new translation of all four Gospels.
Imagine strapping on the sandals of the original disciples and spending a year with Yeshua. Chronicles of the Messiah is the "greatest 'Jewish' story ever told," a new opportunity for you to know Yeshua better.
