J-BOM is Coming
As previously announced on MJM, this coming March begins the Messianic Jewish blogosphere's "Jewish Book of the Month Club," or J-BOM. Each month, participating bloggers will be reading through a selection of Jewish books, and blogging their reviews and feedback. Hopefully, in so doing, we can further our dialogue in the Messianic Jewish movement, and grow together in learning. Perhaps more important, we can take the Messianic Jewish blogosphere to a new level, and create more interaction in our virtual community. Thus far, the following blogs are participating in J-BOM:
- Judah Gabriel - http://judahgabriel.blogspot.com
- Yahnatan Lasko - http://gatherthesparks.blogspot.com
- Ovadia - http://orgadol.wordpress.com
- Rabbi Russ Resnik - http://rebrez.wordpress.com
- Derek Leman - http://derek4messiah.wordpress.com
- Seth Dralle - http://judeoxian.wordpress.com
- FFOZ Blogs - http://ffoz.org/blogs
To participate in J-BOM, we would like to ask that bloggers commit for about a year. It will require the investment of a little time and money. However, books will generally run at about the $20 mark. March's selection is a little higher than that, but is totally worth it.
March's selection, appropriately themed for Pesach, is the JPS Commentary on the Haggadah. Just like the JPS Torah, Haftarah, and Megillot commentaries, the JPS Haggadah Commentary is top-notch. It focuses on the history of the Haggadah, and utilizes the latest scholarship.
What's more remarkable, JPS has offered a special discount (30%) on the commentary for J-BOM readers. That a Jewish publisher with the credentials like JPS would acknowledge a Messianic Jewish bloggers in this way is remarkable in and of itself. So if you plan on participating, please support JPS and order your copy through this link: http://www.jewishpub.org/sale/d4m3o.
Please join us. Read some great Jewish literature, and help build a greater presence for the Messianic Jewish blogosphere.

Visitor Feedback:
Glad to see FFOZ is participating in this. It should be interesting, fun, and contribute to a more knowledgeable (at the least) Messianic readership.

I think this is a great idea, I would love to participate. I am including my blog address and have already ordered the first book.

I like this very much. I'm listening to an audio book called, "The Lotus and the Cross", by Ravi Zacharias. It is a dialog between Yeshua and Buddha in a boat with a third person listening in. It'll take me a month or two to finish the ones I have and get on with the FFOZ book of the month. This is wonderful -
