Taking Torah to the Nations
Lately I am often asked the question, "Now that you guys are done with HaYesod what are you working on?" The answer is HaYesod. In all seriousness although the materials have been fully completed and groups are up and running, we have more "HaYesod" work than ever before. The task of managing all the different leaders and taking care of their personal needs is so large, that most of us on staff are now spending time in communication with these leaders. This of course is in addition to all of our normal responsibilities, so as you can imagine, we are as busy as ever.
One of the blessings for me has been the privilege of connecting with constituents who are fired up for the HaYesod program. It is exciting to hear their enthusiasm as they begin their groups. God is really doing some amazing things! Here are a couple of testimonies. The first one is from a Pastor in Massachusetts:
Shalom Toby,
From watching you (and Daniel and Boaz) last night it feels like I should know you by now!
All of our students were very EXCITED at our first session last night. Despite a quick snow storm passing thru, all student came. At the end of the session I asked them for feedback on the session. Here are their comments:
• Informative
• Lot to digest
• Surprising (good)
• Excellent presentation
• Easily Understood
• Video in Israel make things more real
• Interesting to find Torah is "teaching" - not law
• Helpful explanation on "eye for eye"...
• Enjoyed learning Hebrew definitions
• Brought deeper understanding
• Definitions right in workbook - didn't need to take extensive notes
• Fill-ins kept us connectedI already received the following email this morning:
"That teaching last night was so awesome! ... We heard scripture read in Israel last night. Amazing. There's something about scripture being read in Israel - in Jerusalem."
We are all looking forward to the next 9 weeks with great anticipation!
Thank you - Pastor Don
The second is from a woman who is overwhelmed with joy that God would have allowed her to lead a HaYesod group in a place where there is so much anti-Semitism.
HaYesod Bible Study is the first of its kind in this little town of 4000 in population. We have 6 students that meet on Monday, I know that is a small class but when you consider the location and the facts you would have to say, Wow. The state of Louisiana has 19 hate groups, 4 of which reside in Homer, not even New Orleans has more than one. I covet your prayers as a HaYesod Leader and I know that we are not isolated, I am sure many of you are experiencing some opposition. I am making it a point to pray for the classes that are being held across this globe. The enemy hates this stuff. Pressing in! Dot
I feel so privileged and blessed to be a part of what God is doing: Taking Torah to the nations. Indeed the Torah is going forth from Zion!

Visitor Feedback:
Thanks, Pastor Don, for your encouragement. Our Torah Club/Beit Midrash group has latched onto and coined the phrase "like an explosion" to characterize deep insights gained during our studies from the Torah portions (#1, Unlocking the Scroll). Studies are like an active battlefield wherein the "detonations" are positive impacts of the Spirit. Having seen the promotional DVD's a couple of times, our Torah Club members eagerly await HaYesod's unveiling, raising the anticipation set to a high level. We may need helmets, earplugs and flak jackets, however as time goes on.... We'll be praying for the Louisiana group... may G-d build a hedge of protection around you... We, too, consider it a privilege and a blessing to "take Torah to he nations." Thanks, Toby. I look forward to working with you... Dan, Geneva, NY

We have just finished lesson #4 of HaYesod. A student, the wife of a pastor, came to me and said, "When we didn't know about Torah and were violating it, we weren't sinning. But now that we know and continue to violate it, we are sinning. My problem is, with the Church structure we have, how do we avoid sinning?" This, for me, was a profound question, one that speaks of facing dilemma. She is aware that her salvation is secure but she wants to honour Adonai. Your perspectives would be welcome.
**Toby's Comments:** Thanks for the comment. i woudl encourage you to go through the whole program as we answer the questions of who is obligated to what and also we address the issue of staying in the church. Please feel free to contact me again if your questions are not answered.
