Today the First Fruits web application for TorahPORTIONS reached over a thousand users. In Facebook language, a user is a fan. It is neat to see so many fans of the Torah!
Facebook is a social networking website that allows people with share histories or beliefs to a network of personal friends on various levels. Each user is has his own page which is called a wall. Walls are slightly customizable making each personal wall unique. First Fruits created a web application that would allow Facebook users to display the weekly Torah, Prophets, and Gospel reading on their Facebook wall.
The unique thing about Facebook is that each user has a collection of friends and these friends read posts and happenings on the user's wall exposing all of their friends to the weekly reading of Torah.
This simple Facebook application is one way that we are fulfilling our mission at First Fruits of Zion to make the Torah known, read, and eventually applied. Applying the TorahPORTIONS Facebook application on your Facebook wall is easy. Just visit the TorahPORTIONS website by clicking here.
