Volunteer Request
As part of a project that will likely span the period of several years, First Fruits of Zion is hoping to make the literature of the Jewish believers from the 19th and early 20th centuries available once again in newly published volumes. These works range from books to scholarly journals and are, in their original format, in the various languages of Hebrew, German, Yiddish, and others.
Often times, the journals contain sporadic articles from the Jewish believers. The only way to collect ensure the entirety of literature from these Jewish believers is to search every extant issue of these journals. One current journal that FFOZ is searching is titled "The Peculiar People" which was published by the American Sabbath Tract Society during the late 1800s. Chaim Yedidyah Pollack (otherwise known as Theophilus Lucky) was co-editor of this Christian based journal that was devoted to Jewish interests.
FFOZ has managed to collect copies of every needed issue with the exception of the very first issue. We have managed to track down a copy of this issue at a library just outside of Chicago, Illinois but due to time constraints among staff members, we are currently unable to travel the needed distance to obtain a copy of this issue. To this we appeal to any volunteers near the Chicago area who may be willing to obtain a photocopy of this issue to send along to the FFOZ office. Any help is greatly appreciated and needed.
If anyone is interested in volunteering for this project, please reply to this blog in the comments section below and a staff member will followup with a contact. Thank you all for considering this opportunity to assist FFOZ in our goal to spread the knowledge of the Messiah to all.
Also, if anyone is fluent in German (or knows someone as well) and is interested in volunteering time to devote to the translation of the above mentioned works by the Jewish believers from German to English, please reply in the comments section below as well. Thank you.
