Something New!

Yesterday my family walked to a friend's home a couple of miles from our house. While walking down the road, I read aloud the book of James. We entered into discussion on various points throughout the reading. Something different stood out to each person. Each person was convicted in a different area as the Word was read.

There is something powerful in simply hearing and reading the Word. The Lord has the opportunity to speak to each of us, where we are at, and with what He desires teach us.

I am pleased to announce a new resource that we have developed to help spread the message found in God's Word using the weekly Torah reading schedule. The website is called, TorahPortions. At this time, the site has one simple goal--to get people to simply read and listen to the Word of God.

Its design is friendly and approachable for our Christian friends and brothers. The core biblical text is the highly acclaimed English Standard Version (ESV) which is one of the key translations used in our publications at First Fruits of Zion. This translation is conservative, literal, yet very readable. It is a solid translation that is widely accepted.
Let's let God do the work. Let's simply read and hear the Torah, the Prophets, and the Gospels. God will do the Work of convicting, prompting, and revealing his Torah to those of us that will simply listen.

I would greatly appreciate your feedback on this new site; I would greatly appreciate you spreading the word about this new resource. Let's get reading and listening. The first portion is this week! Click to Read / Listen to B'reisheet.

I love it. My husband always go to Bible Gateway Audio Bible online and listen to whatever we are studying. Then throughout the week I listen to it in the morning while preparing in the kitchen. There is something about listening that really works for me. Now we can just go here. Was the audio ESV also?

The only note I had was purely cosmetic. I think the font size was larger than your main size. IT might look nicer if the font size was smaller.

I'm going to send out some emails right now!

I love it! We have that audio bible and I had just started listening to it while I am working around the house. But now I can listen to just the Torah portions, which is wonderful.

However, I didn't read this blog post until Friday, and didn't get to listen to last weeks reading. I don't see a link to last week's portion, or past portions. If it is there, where? If not, that would be something I would really appreciate. Thanks for all you do!

Oh, just went back to see what last weeks readings were under the "This Year" tab, and it isn't there either. Could you leave all the reading portions up on that page instead of having them disappear? It would be fun to have those be links too (ex. click on Genesis 6:9-11:32 and it takes you to the read/listen page). Again, thanks!

I just emailed this website to my dad. I told him it was a great way to keep up with what we are reading and when we are reading it. What Boaz said about G-d's word meeting us where we are, is so true! We just have to find ways to get people to spend time in G-d's word!

I really enjoyed the oral Torah teaching. It was great to hear the names and places being spoken. I read the Torah portion aloud to my husband and struggle with the names, etc. This was a blessing. Shalom
