After over 70 years, the German city of Krefeld will once again have a synagogue after the Nazis destroyed the original structure during World War II. The synagogue, which was dedicated this past Sunday on September 14, was inaugurated by members of the local Jewish community as well as local politicians. The newly rebuilt synagogue represents the Jewish community that has flourished in the years following the Nazi persecutions under Hitler's regime.
The structure which can house up to 300 attendees cost approx. 12 million euros (approx. $17 million) in renovations and was carried out under the non-profit Isidor Herzfelder Foundation. According to Deutsche Welle, a German news site,
"The only item that recalls the old synagogue is a three-piece ornamental window designed by Dutch artist Jan Thorn-Prikker for the original building in 1928. The window was irreparably damaged when the synagogue was burned down during the Nazi pogrom of 1938, but was reconstructed from the original drawings kept at a local museum."
Such signs as this indicate that the Nazis were not successful in their plans to annihilate the Jews. In the very state which saw the rise of one of the world's most heinous men comes a beacon of light to the Jews of Western Europe and a message to the entire world; this shows the triumph of God's chosen people and the will to survive.

Thanks so much for sharing this. It's encouraging to see how G-d protects his people and how He contiunes to establish His Kingdom in the earth. And, to think that we, who are believers in Messiah, are grafted into such an heritage. Blessed be His Name for ever!

"Am Jisrael Chai!" May G-d´s people live forever and acknowledge Yeshua as their personal Saviour. We are so happy about what G-d is doing here in Germany, that He is putting more and more love for His people into our hearts. More and more Christians are beginning to intercede for G-d´s people. Please pray for our nation,Germany. Because of our terrible heritage concerning the relationship with Jews we also have a great responsibility before G-d to become a special blessing for Israel.
Shalom,
Heiko.
