Shalom Tour
Plum Tuckered Out!
Our family just arrived here in Missouri on Sunday afternoon after being away since mid-May. We presented the "Commandment to Bless" in Colorado, Nebraska and Iowa prior to the conference in Hudson and then continued on tour through Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Ohio. And, now that I'm officially home here in the Ozarks, I can confidently say that our family is "plum tuckered out!"
While our family was received warmly everywhere we went, and the seminars went great, we all agreed that our time at "Shabbat Shalom" in Hudson was the highlight of our trip. So, I wanted to take a moment to thank each of you for coming and sharing Shavu'ot with us.
I thought that all of our children behaved very well, and it warmed my heart to see everyone playing together so well. It is very evident that a Torah culture is being cultivated in the coming generation and I'm very excited about that. The quality of the young adults present was astounding.
None of us can adequately express our gratitude to Beth Immanuel for their hospitality and open arms toward us. It was a big undertaking, and they managed with graciousness and sincere joy. Mr. Fike and his kitchen crew were beyond amazing. And, the songs of the musicians as well as the awe-inspiring cantor's voice will stay with me well into the future.
The staff teachers and I spent some time on Tuesday evening reviewing the feedback forms. We appreciate your honesty with us. Your comments, opinions and suggestions were very helpful and provided lots of positive ideas for us. We will utilize much of what you said to make improvements to next year's conference.
Speaking of next year's conference, we already have it in the works! The overall theme will be the Temple. It will be held here in Missouri, please pray for us in choosing the venue because it needs to be done fairly soon. Prayer is one of the best foundations to lay for events like this.
In closing, we hope that you were as blessed with your time in Hudson as we were. Thank you all for the sacrifices that you made. We are happy to have had this time to develop and strengthen our friendships. May HaShem bless the rest of your summer and may he see fit to return us to one another's presence next Shavu'ot for another wonderful time together.
Also, your prayers are greatly appreciated for me and the whole staff at First Fruits now that I am at home. It is production time for us and we need strength, God's guidance and wisdom, and discernment. As I said in my closing message, it is through your partnership with us in tangible ways that we are able to accomplish the work of First Fruits of Zion.
