Our 4th of July Bang!
Our American readers know that this weekend will have a lot of fireworks going off, bottle-rockets flying, sparklers sparkling, and good times for everyone involved. A firework is properly defined as, "a low explosive, pyrotechnic device used primarily for aesthetic and entertainment purposes."
At First Fruits of Zion we will be launching some of our own fireworks this weekend in the form of a formal announcement of the "first fruits" of our new prayer resources. These particular prayers, like fireworks, are used for aesthetic purposes to magnify and bring beauty to the commandment of Deuteronomy 8:10--the commandment to bless God after one has eaten and is satisfied.
We have created a new website, so-to-speak, to present all of the new materials that we have created. These resources will help everyone understand and employ the simple commandment of blessing God before and after meals. God-willing, we will have this site up next week so keep an eye out for it. For now you can read this interview in an Illinois based newspaper discussing these new resources. Click here to read the newspaper interview.
Have a fun and eventful 4th of July.

Visitor Feedback:
I am really looking forward to these new resources. We've tried to include grace after meals using various other resources, but haven't found what we wanted to use. I've seen a copy of the Grace after Meals and am excited to order it and incorporate it into our lives.

This story above tells about a new manuscript of "My Country Tis of Thee" that was recently found, not unlike the discovery of the Didache "Grace After Meals."
How interesting that these ancient discoveries from the past aren't just dry, dusty relics for academic inquiry. Rather, these discoveries are relevant to average folks like us and have the potential to impact our everyday lives.

thank you for the link to the news article. I thought Mr. Miller did an excellant job writing the article and am glad to see something like that in the news. I wasn't familiar with the book Jesus the Jew though?
