HaYesod Field Report #6

To capture five minutes of teaching it takes about 3 to 4 hours of on location work, and I am estimating another 8 hours on each segment in the editing studio. It is hard to believe that this is the ratio of time versus output, but we are shooting for a very high standard and want to make it right. We realize that for many people, HaYesod will become their entry point into Torah life. The burden that we all share--to bring a correct view and understanding of the Master to His disciples--is immense. A key to this is for us to properly communicate the believer’s role with and connection to the Land, the People and the Scriptures of Israel.

The Father has provided for us in many amazing ways, and I am very grateful to be able to serve Him and work with you and my colleagues to build His kingdom. Each of you who identifies with this message has a job in this work. Many of you pray for us, others send letters of encouragement, some of you dispel rumors and speak kind words, and all of you, on some level, support us financially. Each one of us have job.

While shooting video in Israel, there are several jobs for which each of us are responsible. You might say we are all wearing multiple hats. Here is a list of our jobs as they relate to this trip:

*Joel (Producer)*

1.) Battery charger
2.) Camera operator #2
3.) Audio technician
4.) Bag hauler
5.) Tape manager

*Jeremy (Glide Camera Operations)*

1.) Camera operator #1
2.) B-roll manager
3.) Bag hauler
4.) Dynamic image capturer
5.) Equipment inventory

*Toby (Project Manager)*

2.) Camera operator #3
3.) Equipment management
4.) Motivational Speaker
5.) Key grip

*Daniel (Script Supervisor)*

1.) Teacher
2.) Camera operator #3
3.) Gaffer
4.) Speech / delivery coach
5.) Bag hauler

*Boaz (Executive Director)*

1.) Teacher
2.) Wardrobe manager
3.) Meal planner and driver (GPS overrider)
4.) Logistical coordinator
5.) Israeli liaison

*David (Director a.k.a. Cecil V. Dogmatic)*

1.) Site Scout (location management)
2.) Assistant driver

4.) Bag hauler
5.) Scene manager

*Asaph (Israeli film crew member)*

2.) Teleprompter manager
3.) Permissions acquisitions
4.) Nice guy and becoming a good friend

Were working hard here to serve the best interests of this message—God willing things will continue to come together and we will be able to have the new HaYesod program done in the fall of 2008. At that time it your turn to go out and do your job of declaring this message.

Thanks for the field reports. I know it take time and mental energy that is barely there. I'm very excited about what you're doing. You are in my daily prayers.

Hmmmm... I sing with an Israeli woman at the Vancouver JCC whose son's name is Asaph and he works in film. Nah... that'd be waaayy too far out.

Thanks for all the great pictures to feed our already intense desire to revisit HaAretz. We look forward to the new HaYesod.

Blessings!
