A Joggling Act
A joggler is an individual that jogs and juggles at the same time. Most remarkably a joggler usually runs marathons, which is distance of 26.2 miles of 42 kilometers. Imagine running for hours at a time and having the concentration to flip multiple balls in the air in a constant rotation. Quoting one joggler blogger, “I'm on a quest to joggle 44 marathons. I do it because I can and it makes people smile.”
The closest that I have ever come to being a joggler was one time on a long run when I found a unique rock that I wanted to bring home to my wife. I tossed this single small rock back-and-forth between my hands every other minute to until I arrived home. I wonder if I would be welcomed into the rare and elite world of being a joggler? I doubt it.
But I might (and many here at FFOZ might, too be) classified as jogglers as I see all the running and the “balls” that we have in the air.
This week on several of our projects we became frustrated and tired, requiring a conference call to gather our thoughts and focus our efforts. The main project that we are feeling pressure to complete—and we are encountering difficulties with—is in the development and planning of the new HaYesod discipleship program. We are up against several hard milestones (a.k.a. deadlines) that are stretching us greatly as we “joggle” all of our other projects and responsibilities.
The most pressing date at this time is February 17th, one month from today. At that time, I and five other guys from FFOZ will be going to Israel to videotape 40 plus, five-to-seven minute segments of teachings on location in Israel for the new program due for release in fall 08.
This is new territory for us. It would have been far easier to do the teaching in a studio, but we (and am I sure most of you) are weary of “talking head’s.” In addition to this the intent of the HaYesod program is to introduce and encourage believers in their relationship with the Land, the People and the Scriptures of Israel. Doing this from a studio in Missouri is not sufficient.
We need your prayers. We need for you to pray for our creativity, we are stretching ourselves beyond our areas of expertise; we need wisdom on how to say what we need to say to remove all of the emotional and theological obstacles from people embracing the Torah and walking in the example of the Messiah.
We’re all joggling here and we do not want to drop any balls.
We’ll keep you posted. For now your prayers are greatly appreciated.
*Avner Update*
I am very happy and relieved to pass along good news on behalf of Avner. His surgery took about 6 hours yesterday, but was successful.
They removed the tumor and have sent it to pathology where it will undergo about 10 days of complete testing before we will know more results.
Until then, Avner continues to recover. I spoke with him very early this morning and he seemed in good spirits--even joking a bit.
He does have a drainage tube in his chest which is causing some discomfort, but that should be removed later today or tomorrow at some point.
He is slated to remain in the hospital for the next four days. Please pray that he can get some rest and that his body will heal properly with no infection. Continue to pray also for his wife and the kids as they are home alone and certainly missing Avner.
Thank you so much for all of your prayers and support during this time.

Dear Boaz and Brethren @ FFOZ.
We will certainly lift you up in our prayers for success in your planning and trip to Israel to video the HaYesod.
Only suggestion I can give is to do all you can to plan for videoing, then with prayers from the saints, the Ruach HaKodesh will take over for a successful trip. I have found that we can prepare all we can, then give it over to Messiah, the Ruach HaKodesh will do the rest.

Boaz,
Of course you would be accepted into the world of joggling. We are a non-discriminating bunch with diverse backgrounds but bound by our love of keeping three objects suspended in mid air while pushing forward.
Peace
