We’re taking the Torah to Africa.
Tomorrow I will be traveling with Messianic Congregational Leader Grant Luton (Beth Tikkun in Akron, Ohio) to Africa. After landing in Kenya, we are going to take a short road trip across the Kenyan border into neighboring Uganda where we will spend time with Messianic Missionary, Emily Dwyer and her Acts for Messiah orphan home. We will spend this Sabbath with Emily and be teaching Torah and Messiah to the local believers in a new, out-door worship center built by funds raised from Messianic believers in the United States. Mrs. Dwyer and the children she has taken in conduct weekly Sabbath services at this facility. It will be our privilege to join them.
I am looking forward to the opportunity to spend time with Emily and the kids at Acts for Messiah because my congregation, Beth Immanuel Sabbath Fellowship, has contributed substantially towards that mission, helping support the work there and raising funding for the future building of a school. I hope you and your congregation will consider getting behind this work as well. It is very rare to find a mission organization that is propagating Torah and Gospel. For example, Emily uses HaYesod to disciple the new believers in Uganda.
After spending some time in Uganda with Emily, its back to Kenya for a conference.
We will be teaching Torah and Gospel at a six day conference of Episcopalian pastors and laymen in Kakamega, Kenya. As many as 1,000 people are projected to be in attendance. We have been invited by Episcopalian Bishop Peter Onguko. Peter contacted me over a year ago after having read the book Restoration: Returning the Torah of God to the Disciples of Jesus. He is excited about the Messianic movement and has even pioneered some Messianic congregations within his denomination in Kenya. For our part, we are looking forward to the opportunity to plant seeds of Torah and the message of the Kingdom in the midst of a large, mainstream Kenyan denomination.
Mr. Luton tells me that Kenyan Christians tend to be more open to Torah than American Christians. They do not carry a prejudice against Torah, and their theology is not colored by anti-Semitism. We will be with these Kenyan Christians through the festival of Hannukah. I am saddened to miss spending Hannukah with my family, but I am trusting that this particular shlichut (mission) will light many candles of faith in Africa.
With God’s help, Mr. Luton and I will return on December 13th. While we are gone, I would very much appreciate your prayers for these African believers, for us, our families and for everyone at FFOZ. Please consider supporting the work of FFOZ with a generous year-end donation. Your contributions are making a difference around the world.

I had the privilege of traveling to Kenya 2 years ago and sharing the message of Torah. The people were extremely open. They are very hungry to hear the Word of God in it's fullness. I was also able to leave a few copies of "Restoration" and "The Letter Writer."
May Avinu watch over you and bring you both back safely.
Shalom!

I was just watching a program last night on CNN titles "Where Have All the Parents Gone?". I was moved with compassion and as a Messianic Believer I couldn't help but ask where is God in this? What does He have for us to do? The only answer I know of setting a man free is to give him the Word/Torah. That is the only real freedom. Maybe God is calling me there one day soon. God has given me a love for the people of Africa the same as He has given me a love for the Jewish people. My prayers are with Africa and all who are privelaged to minister Yeshua haMashiach to them.
Much Love
Sherrie Lynn
