Lancasters Abroad
When I was born, one of the wealthy men in my father’s church scolded my father for having so many children. I was number six. My father replied, “The world needs more Lancasters!”
I’m not sure if it does or not, but I do know that there are going to plenty of them on this years FFOZ Israel Study Trip.
My son, Isaac, and I are planning on flying to Atlanta this Sunday. God willing, when we arrive there, we will join up with the FFOZ Study Trip group. My father has joined this year’s trip to Israel, so we will meet him at Atlanta as well.
From Atlanta we will fly direct to Tel Aviv. God willing, in Tel Aviv we will be met by my brother, Steven and his wife Mona. Then its off to the Negev and the beginning of a two week study trip.
Add it up and there will be a total of five Lancasters on the Israel Trip this year. That’s more than one tenth of the total participants on the trip.
I'll try to make a few blog posts while we are travelling, so keep checking back to the site here.

Visitor Feedback:
Gamla this time? Ever?
DTL Replies: Gamla still isn't on the itinerary. That will have to wait for a longer trip.

Just chatted with Sarah on the phone and it seems the trip is off to a rocky start. Everyone is scattered on the plane, and they are working on some mechanical problems. Better to work on the problems while it is on the ground instead of in the air. (smile) . . . "This too is for the good!"
I look forward to hearing some of your posts from the Holy Land!
Shalom,
Jeff
DTL replies: No real problems. Everything is good. We arrived and are spending the night in Beersheva.

Great news!!
Blessings on your adventures in the land! We got to spend 3 months there last spring, and discovered a home and a people!!
Love from the Hanestribe
P.S. How many Lancasters does it take to change a light bulb??
DTL Replies: If you figure that one about the lightbulb out, let my wife know. She'd appreciate the information.

Daniel and family, those of us who are Sephardi are looking forward to Aliyah in the Negev to fulfill the prophecies of Obadiah. When you return, can you give some information on what the government and the Jewish National Fund are doing on that behalf? We need all the encouragement we can get. Bless and keep you.
