God meant it for good
When I lived in South Bend, Indiana, I had a great opportunity to provide worship serivces for residents in a nursing home. Every month, I would give them a “technology update.” I would share with them things that were happening in the world of technology – things that were changing our world.
I recall one day I shared with them this new thing called the “Internet”. Most of them were completely amazed at what could be done. One lady commented, “I remember thinking it was never going to get any better than the telephone.” One other gentleman made a comment that still resonates in my head, “I wonder how many different forms of evil will rise out of that.”
It is very true that the Internet is used by some ungodly people for some ungodly reasons. But every time I hear a story about how people use the Internet for this evil and that evil, I think back to the story of Joseph and his brothers and Genesis 50:20: “As for you, you meant evil against me, God meant it for good…” This to me is the idea of grace. The fact that something good can rise out of an intended evil.
Yes, there are many ungodly things on the Internet, but there are also some very good things that God can use for his glory. Looking here at the FFOZ site, there are many teachings and resources that can help a person to see the truth and beauty of the Torah in their own lives. The Torah Club Online Forum helps to provide a place for people to ask questions and struggle with topics in a safe enviroment. This is indeed something that God is using for good.
If you have not already bookmarked the FFOZ site, I encourage you to do so. Also, make sure you subscribe to the blog feed. Oftentimes, new blogs are posted a couple of times each day. Each one filled with a blessed teaching that can strengthen your walk. And when you sign up for a Torah Club volume, I encourage you to visit us on the Torah Club Online Forum.

Don’t dismiss all of the Internet simply because it is often used for evil. Be encouraged that in God’s grace, He can take the Internet and use it for good as well.
Shalom,
Bill

I too can say one can learn a lot using the Internet. At the same pray for discernment as you use it, and go to the sites that you trust.
