Seven Wonders of Biblical Archeology

Here is an interesting link that discusses seven great discoveries in the archaeology of the Biblical world.

The blogger lists:

1. The Dead Sea Scrolls

2. The House of David Inscriptions

3. The Amulet Scrolls

4. The Galilee Boat

5. The Baruch Bulla

6. The Caiaphas Ossuary

7. The Pontius Pilate Inscription

I have a couple of favorites myself, like the Capernaum synagogue. While over in Israel, it was exciting to visit and pray at the spot where the synagogue of the Master was. While the structure that stands today was from a latter period, they have discovered a basalt rock foundation underneath that dates back to the Second Temple Period. Every time I’m there, I always imagine how many times he would have been there praying and teaching.

What are your favorites?
