messiah magazine knock-out punch issue!
Shalom FFOZ people. By now you should have received issue 96 of messiah magazine, our "knock-out punch" issue on matters relating to anti-missionary objections to the Gospel. The entire issue is devoted to defending our faith in Yeshua in the face of greater Judaism's polemics.
You might think to yourself, "The Messianic movement has been doing apologetics like this for over a century. Before that, Christianity was engaging in these polemics all the way back to the age of Justin Martyr. What's so new and great?"
The difference is that FFOZ approaches the Jewish objections to Yeshua from a Jewish perspective rather than a Christian perspective. In the past, dialogue between the two faiths have broken down on the basis of separate assumptions. For example, there is the obvious problem that Christianity assumes the Torah is obsolete while Judaism assumes it is not.
Several of the "To Whom Shall We Go" lectures have been condensed into the magazine including additional pieces by Tim Hegg and Aaron Eby.
We are eager to hear your feedback. If you don't have a copy, call our office at 1-800-775-4807 and get your free trial subscription going! Tell them you want to begin with issue 96.
As we send each issue of messiah magazine to press, we do so knowing that the ministry will lose money. Yet the money is not lost if lives are changed, and the testimonials we hear continually demonstrate that our publication is a tool in Abba's hands. Consider sending an additional donation to support the good work of First Fruits of Zion and messiah magazine.
Let us know what you think about the articles.

We have been purchasing Messiah Magazines bulk rate, and have been able to cultivate some relationships with seven churches and working on several more. I had opportunity to introduce issue #96 as very special, not for leasure reading. It is taking time, but I believe it will be producing some good fruits in the near future.
I haven't had opportunity to read issue #96 in its entirey, but what I have, is simply a great work. Congratulations for a great job.

To whom shall we go? I haven't read the whole magazine yet, but when I read Boaz's letter it reminded me of a thought I had back in 1990 and still have today. In some of the Messianic/Hebrew Roots groups, Yeshua seems to get left out. We are to be disciples of Messiah Yeshua, and I've been blessed by Daniel Lancasters articles and Torah Club studies. Please, no matter what you do, don't leave Yeshua out. FFOZ doesn't, and I hope other groups who read Torah Club, and are invovled in the Messianic movement, and the Hebrew roots movement don't leave Yeshua out.

I just received the magazine and thought it was great! One question: You nailed the line of Joseph (Yeshua's father) but his mother was also from the line of David. Miryam's father was from the line of David and her mother was from the line of Aaron. Elisheva was a "close relative" and I checked in the Book of Numbers to find out what a close relative was and probably Elisheva was her aunt which means her mother was her sister, which means the line of Levi. So from his mother's side, Yeshua was not only from the line of David but also of Aaron. King and High Priest. And don't forget both John the Immerser and Yeshua both began their "ministries" at the age of 30 which is the age the priests begin their duties. Just a thought.
Shalom!

Great read so far. I'm glad to see somebody finally just letting the scriptures define G-d instead of forcing preconceived theological notions into the mix. I have been reading "The Essential Torah" by George Robinson, and he quoted someone who said, "In order to define G-d, I would have to be G-d."
I was once tossed from a Messianic congregation because they feel that people who don't define G-d as a trinity "should be shunned" (a quote from their website). I read their white paper on the trinity and read other books and articles about the subject, but I just couldn't see it in the scriptures. Mind you, I wasn't disputing the deity of Yeshua, just the concept of the trinity.
Thanks for not labeling me a hopeless heretic.
