SPAM (The Meat Kind)
Since 1937, people all around the world have enjoyed the taste of SPAM®. Recently I received—as a gift—a commemorative SPAM® t-shirt, and I am actually quite proud to wear it. In fact, I’m wearing it right now.
According to the SPAM® website, “2007 is the Chinese Year of the Pig, it is also the 70th anniversary of the greatest moment in the history of mankind.” This “greatest moment in history” is the celebration of the making of SPAM®.
SPAM® is part of the history of the US. In many ways, it sustained the country through very lean times. For many families and service people, it was the only source of sustainable food.
Since I have added the SPAM® t-shirt to my wardrobe rotation I have had many conversations with people regarding this food staple. It is fascinating to me the good memories of family, grandparents, and lean times that this “specially-processed-American-meat” sparks. My SPAM t-shirt has taken on a different meaning to me now that I’ve heard all these stories.
Personally, I have never consciously eaten SPAM® and cannot identify with others that consider it to be delicious. But I do wear my new t-shirt to make a particular point. Can you guess what that point is?
The T-shirt is dark blue with the trademarked SPAM® logo across the front in bright yellow to which I have developed my own acronym for SPAM® that relates directly to our Messianic faith.
Can you figure out the acronym that I have developed for SPAM®?
I will give five copies of FFOZ’s book, “Holy Cow” to anyone that gets it correct. Have fun!
Also, please share any fond memories you have of this uniquely popular American cuisine that you feel you want to get off your chest.

Good suggestions. But that is not the right answer...
Keep trying.

Having been born into a large family and during the great depression, I have vague memories of spam. I can only remember that it did not look appealing to me, I ate it though or maybe I might have gone hungry. I suppose that the ingredients was a mixture of pork, beef, chicken or what ever else they could use as filler.
I would think that since there was mixture of clean and unclean ingredients in the spam, it would be appropriate to think of Rav Sh'aul's instructions in II Timothy 2:15 to not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. There are many false prophets out there.

These are all good. Read Daniel's recent post on "Renouncing Yeshua" and see if this helps with your ideas.
Keep'em coming.

Though I have never had the "pleasure" of eating SPAM, I do know that my late Grandfather, Dick Dralle, was profoundly influenced by the depression-era that popularized SPAM. Save everything, don't let anything go to waste, eat what's on your plate, and be thankful for what you have, even if it is just SPAM. What a sad irony that America today is so incredibly wasteful and frivolous, despite the fact that just a generation ago, we were trying to save every scrap in order to survive.

Well done Brian.

Okay, I get the joke. And, I'm not trying to be a party pooper, BUT I have to share my thoughts on this.
With the perception that Messianic Judaism has among Christians and Jews, doesn't this only make Messianic Judaism the butt of a bad joke?
I'm a funny guy, and I love to play, but this is too much. This is in poor taste (no pun intended).
