On the Move

First Fruits of Zion is on the move

Yes, I can almost hear your reply, “You’re always moving Boaz—you live in a motor home.” You’re right, we are still motoring along on the Shalom Tour with no end in sight, and it continues to be a blessing.

Actually, it’s our Colorado distribution facility that is on the move, and we’re very excited about this opportunity that we believe the Father has prepared for First Fruits of Zion.

Sometime during mid to late 2007 our plan is to relocate our Colorado office to Missouri, along with some of our administrative support staff. We will do our best to communicate with you throughout this transition process, (especially here in the Events and Administration section of our blogs) because we know there may be the potential for hiccups in our systems and processes during the move. We’re making detailed plans now to assure a smooth and seamless transition, but please be patient with us should an unexpected glitch or two arise along the way.

Why Missouri you’re wondering? It’s not exactly Israel, is it? Our hearts do long to be in the land of Israel, but the Father is showing us that our ministry continues to be centered in North America. In fact, being in the middle of North America is one of the primary reasons we chose Missouri—it’s as close as you can get to the geographic and population centers of the U.S. This centrality will bring our staff together more cost-effectively, improve our shipping performance, and decrease travel distances to facilitate the demands of our growing conference calendar.

For me, as the founder and director of FFOZ, one of the more motivating factors for this move has been my desire to be the best steward of resources that I can. The Denver area is an expensive place to operate. This is why I have been so pleased with our projected Missouri-based cost savings. For a long time Colorado was the unrivaled, affordable destination of many faith-based organizations fleeing from really expensive places like California and Chicago. Perhaps my standards for return-on-investment are higher than most, because I now know we can do much better outside of Colorado. (Who knows, perhaps we’ll be the new trendsetters and Focus on the Family will move their headquarters to Missouri.)

The part of the move that thrills me the most is the positive impact I believe it will have on our strategy of making disciples of Yeshua. It’s just an office move, but discipleship is at the core of all we do, even relocating. So our new facilities will have a small conference center space that doubles as a video studio, too. Lord willing, we’ll be able to host small retreats and special educational seminars, record them, and produce them on the spot with greater speed and ease than ever before. Our new facility will have expanded warehousing space and the added room for a centralized theological library, something we hope our researchers, writers, and ultimately you, will benefit from greatly.

I’m very proud of our staff and the planning going on behind the scenes to make the move as smooth as possible. We expect this centralization to help us with our systems and organization, too. We recognize that some inefficiencies have in the past delayed magazine production, prevented a timely email response, mixed up a Torah Club order, or frustrated our volunteers. As the Lord has expanded our reach, it has become more critical than ever that we have the resources and the collaborative speed to respond to the needs of our friends and supporters. I believe this new facility will help create an environment making it easier for us to be attentive while helping you proclaim the timeless message of Yeshua and Torah with relevance to even more people in 2007 and beyond.

So stay tuned and we’ll try to keep you informed of any details, and please be assured that our staff is working hard to make sure your Torah Club and magazine subscriptions carry on as usual. Have any questions? Don’t hesitate to call our office, or ask me here in the comments section. Thank you for your prayers and support. I see exciting days ahead for the Body of Messiah!

Mazal Tov!

Incidentally, the geographic center of the nation is actually right here in my home state, South Dakota...

...just a few miles north of Belle Fourche - cowboy country

But don't feel like you have to move to South Dakota or anything like that.

Missouri is great and your move will go smoothly.
No doubt.

Shalom

We will miss you in Colorado. WE are becoming a very expensive state and hope this goes well with you. Are Boaz Michael's parents going to move also? We wish you all well

That is so interesting that you are moving to Missouri. My husband and I are looking to retire there. Actually for the same reasons, it will be easier to live on our retirement. What city are you moving to?

Moving can sometime be difficult. We will pray for a smooth transition.
