What an amazing thing prayer is! Our Creator has marvelously woven into the fabric of His universe a way for us to communicate with Him. All we must do is open our mouths and utter a whisper, and our petition ascends before the throne of the eternal God. The Holy One who dwells in eternity has somehow made Himself readily accessible to the contrite and lowly.
It's fastastically simple. We don't have to travel to a sacred place, speak an exalted language, wear anything special or perform any elaborate rituals in order to hear or be heard by the Almighty.
Our Master Yeshua the Messiah teaches us to pray with persistence and faith, showing us by example the importance of a committed prayer life. He shows us how near the Father is, longing to hear our repentance and ready to receive our requests.
While it is astonishingly simple at its core, prayer is an unending and profound topic. My life has been transformed through the study of prayer from a biblical and Jewish perpective. I hope to share some of these ideas with you in future posts.

Today we (Daniel, Toby, Avner, Aaron, and myself) spent two and a half hours on a conference call reviewing the status of the siddur project, establishing additional goals, and addressing some current obstacles. I left the meeting very encouraged and excited to see how things are coming along. We also discussed beginning to release some review pages through this forum for feedback. As Aaron said he will begin to post in this section small teachings and thoughts in the area of prayer—these will be informative and intended to continue to build upon the resources that FFOZ has already created in this area.
Aaron mentioned how this application and understand of prayer has transformed his life. This is my testimony as well. Being on the road and teaching in the area of set-time prayer I hear this testimony from many people—and I see it becoming rooted in communities. One of the purposes of our emphasis in prayer was simply to encourage people to pray. We taught that prayer can be very simple and accomplished by the act of ceasing and speaking one simple word. We had hoped that by teaching in this misunderstood area that the Messianic community would become more dedicated to intercession. I have met several communities were the entire community has set the alarms on their cell phone as 9 and 3 as a reminder to enter into prayer. They have expressed the unity that this has bought into the community and how this tool has enable the congregation to be reminded of each other and their corporate and individual purposes. This was very encouraging to see.
I look forward to seeing Aaron’s thoughts in this section. I hope to continue to grow in this area of my life as well. I am encouraged by the fruits that these teachings are bearing.

I echo Jeremiah's comment. I am really looking forward to learning more and more as this project grows. I cannot tell you how many times people say to me, "How do you pray?" I look forward to this project and resource.
Shalom,
Bill

Shalom.
I'm very excited about this project because even the brief and sometimes broad references to it are bringing people in and causing us to think and reflect. Word of mouth is spreading, and I may not be alone when I feel like it's the right time for such a project. It is for me in my life at least.
If I may be honest: I am struggling with my prayer life and am afraid of jumping into a structure with prayers I don't yet know at a length I am honestly not used to. I am wondering if a disjointed and rather disorganized person like myself can succeed at this endeavor without a community of support. But I have hope that all I need is the first step and God will be patient with me anyway. Do you think this siddur project will be accessible to others like myself who struggle with such issues?
May the Spirit continue to lead you all in your work for the Kingdom.

My wife and I find that there is a direct line, without disconnections, a listening ear, who loves us more than we could ever imagine, and that He does know us better than we know us. He does answer, he does help us to rid ourselves of a bad attitude even if we cannot identify it ourselves. We do not need to worry about what to say,as The Ruach HaKodesh will be there to lead us and even to answer our questions before we have finished asking! We suggest starting with praise to Him and for all the blessings we often take forgranted, prayer for others will make it easier for ones own needs. Thanks for the encouraging messages by the blog!
