We are already several months into the new biblical year 5766, and the civil year 2005 is drawing to a close. I am writing to thank you for your past support and would like to share with you some of the exciting things we have planned for 2006.

Last year I stated:

"The year 2005 promises to be an amazing year for the ministry. These are exciting times to be a part of the Kingdom. Abba is doing a mighty work in our midst—restoring His people to the Torah and calling His people to Messiah"

Because of God's faithfulness, and with the partnership of friends such as yourself, 2005 has been an exceptional year!

If you are interested in continuing your support of First Fruits of Zion, let me share with you some of the special things we have planned for 2006.

In 2006 we have a tremendous opportunity to build upon the successful in-roads that have been made this past year, and we need your financial assistance. Please prayerfully consider sending a year-end donation, which is tax deductible as permitted by law. To send your donation securely online, click here!

In 2005 we spent unprecedented time on the road speaking with constituents, sharing and defending the message of Messiah and Torah, and challenging many to radical discipleship (imitation of the Master). Also, we created many effective new resources, like Holy Cow!, Trembling at the Word and Torah Club Volume 2.

Most recently, our book Restoration—funded by your generosity—has reached deeper into the church than any effort FFOZ has made thus far. Many seeds have been planted in the hearts and minds of God's people with this resource. In less than three months, it has sold over 15,000 copies, an extraordinary feat. Here are some brief testimonies:

I've read half way through Restoration and I'm already convinced and convicted. I've taken steps to incorporate Torah into my life—I'm going to observe the Sabbath this week, and I've started to become conscious of what I'm eating, and I plan to start observing the feasts of Israel this year. Asst. Pastor Edward R. S, Lifeway Church
After receiving the book we shared it with a new couple. He was a youth minister and she a home school mom. Their quote, "We devoured the book not once but twice." My wife and I shared last Sabbath with them and we literally witnessed a couple having come out of Egypt into the Promised Land—with a new meaning, purpose, hope and conviction about faith in Yeshua, and His Torah. Thank you D. Thomas Lancaster for a concise book, with a compelling message. Mark & Kerry L.

In 2006, with your generous contributions, we plan to:

  • Develop new and exciting resources to continue to educate the Body of Messiah about its relationship to the Torah of God
  • Increase our small teaching and speaking staff, to help fulfill the many requests to speak around the country
  • Create new practical, hands-on how-to materials for living a
    Torah-pursuant life
  • Transform select FFOZ materials into digestible, user-friendly guides
  • Create a friendly discussion guide for readers.

To accomplish this, however, we need to increase our small teaching and speaking staff.

Because of our desire to practice good financial stewardship, First Fruits of Zion will only hire new staff members who can eventually "pay their own way." In other words, the income generated from resource sales created by a new hire should eventually eclipse his salary. During the initial development phase, however, we need to cover the expenses incurred by hiring him. Our current goal is to raise $28,000 to cover 1 year of these expenses.

The man we have already identified for this potential role is an excellent fit with the FFOZ team: he is unassuming, down-to-earth, an excellent speaker, personable, and very knowledgeable about living a Messiah-centered, Torah-based life from both an intellectual and a practical perspective.

He has a deep desire to share the Torah, he states,

Meeting and speaking with people in person goes a long way to get our message across. First and foremost, the message of Torah needs to be presented with love and grace, while not compromising truth. Beginners and people still in the Church need to leave workshops challenged and encouraged and not angry and offended. I also see that the Messianic movement lacks seminars on more advanced Torah topics, such as applying the specifics of commandments. We need to not just get people to realize Torah is for today but to challenge the "more advanced" believer to apply these concepts and commands in light of Yeshua's life.

Of course, we feel the same way, and I think he will be a great addition to our team.

Pending our fundraising efforts, we hope to bring him aboard and introduce you to him in January 2006. His first order of business will be to create a friendly discussion guide for Restoration readers. He will also transform some of FFOZ's most compelling materials into digestible, user-friendly guides that will provide you with practical, hands-on, how-to materials for living a Torah-pursuant life. Finally, he will help us fulfill the many requests we receive to speak around the country.

To help us move ahead with the expansion of our team, and our continued efforts to proclaim the message of Torah and Messiah, please prayerfully consider sending us your year-end donation.
